ZEISS ATOS 5 for Airfoil — Technical data
The ATOS 5 for Airfoil is a variant of the ATOS 5 that GOM presented in 2019 for turbine blades, guide vanes and blisks. It uses LED light, delivers 12 million measuring points per scan and works with smaller measuring fields from 100 × 70 mm to 400 × 300 mm at a working distance of 530 mm. According to the trade press it captures up to 120 images per second and records a position in 0.2 seconds. ZEISS intends it for automated use only, for instance in the ScanBox 5110 or 5120.
As the sensor is built for automated blade inspection, buying one mainly makes sense together with a robot cell or for an existing ScanBox. It is important whether the evaluation modules for profile sections and edge analysis are licensed and transferred, since without them the core of the application is missing. Calibration objects for the small measuring fields are delicate and should be in the original case. Acceptance report, projector hours and maintenance records make assessment easier. Whether ZEISS will integrate and accept the sensor in an existing cell should be settled before signing.
