ZEISS ATOS 5 — Technical data

The ATOS 5 belongs to the fifth ATOS generation that GOM presented in 2018 and measures quickly, both manually and automated. An LED projector and two cameras deliver 8 or 12 million measuring points per scan; at launch the trade press quoted acquisition times of 0.2 seconds. According to the brochure, the measuring field ranges from 170 × 140 mm to 1,000 × 800 mm at a working distance of 880 mm, and the sensor head measures about 550 × 320 × 200 mm. Besides manual use, it is the standard sensor of the ZEISS ScanBox Series 5. Sister models are the ATOS 5 for Airfoil and the laser-lit ATOS 5X.

A used ATOS 5 often comes out of a robot cell. In that case, ask whether mounting, control PC and Virtual Measuring Room licences are sold with it or only the sensor. Each measuring field needs its matching calibration object; missing ones can be reordered. ZEISS INSPECT only runs with a valid licence, and ZEISS should confirm before purchase that it can be transferred. Operating temperature is limited to 5 to 35 °C. Also ask about projector hours, calibration history and the computer's graphics card.
