Xact Metal XM300C — Technical data
The XM300 was announced at formnext in November 2017 as the large sister model of the XM200 and was later listed as the XM300C. With a build volume of 254 × 330 × 330 mm, just under 28 litres, and optionally two or four fibre lasers, each assigned to one region of the build field via the Xact Core gantry mechanism, it was meant to open up small-series production. Deliveries were planned for autumn 2018; how many systems were built is not documented. Xact Metal no longer lists the model, and the announced successor XM300G with galvo scanners was still in development in October 2026.
On the used market the XM300C is a special case: there are probably only a few units, including pre-series or pilot systems. Therefore check the year of manufacture, the number of lasers, and whether all laser regions are calibrated and accepted. Gantry guides, recoater, filters and protective glasses are wear parts; add a 220 V connection and a footprint of roughly 1,100 × 700 × 1,400 mm. A written commitment on spare parts, parameters and remote maintenance is essential, as public documentation for this model is scarce.
