Xact Metal XM200G2 — Technical data
The XM200G2 is the twin-laser version of Xact Metal's XM200G. Both fibre lasers, each 100, 200 or 400 W, work in parallel in the 150 × 150 × 150 mm build volume, optionally 290 mm high; the manufacturer quotes a build rate of about 12–16 cc/h, roughly double that of the single-laser model. The enclosure, the 650 × 780 × 1,930 mm footprint and the single-phase power connection are identical, while the weight is somewhat higher at around 425 kg. Water-cooled performance galvos with up to 34.6 m/s are available for higher scanning speeds. It is aimed at users with small series or densely packed build plates.
Second-hand, the main thing to check on the XM200G2 is the alignment of the two lasers: calibration of the laser fields to each other, seam quality at the field boundaries, and whether both laser sources show comparable operating hours and power. Then come protective glasses, filters, recoater, seals and argon consumption. Clarify whether the water-cooled galvos are fitted and the chiller is included, which material parameters are released and whether the partner software is transferable. A trial build with test specimens in both laser fields is advisable before purchase.
