Xact Metal XM200C — Technical data

The XM200C was the entry-level model of US manufacturer Xact Metal from Pennsylvania and was introduced in April 2018 together with the XM200S as the further development of the XM200 shown in 2017. It is a metal powder-bed system with a 100 W fibre laser that could be upgraded to 200 W, and a cube-shaped build volume of 127 mm per side. Its hallmark is the Xact Core beam delivery: instead of a galvanometer scanner, a gantry mechanism moves the beam orthogonally across the powder bed so that it always strikes perpendicularly; the data sheet quotes up to 650 mm/s. At around 205 kg the machine is compact and runs single-phase. In 2021 the XM200G with a galvo scanner replaced the series.

Second-hand, the XM200C is a small laboratory solution for stainless steels, nickel-based alloys and tool steels; aluminium and titanium required an optional kit. Check the gantry mechanics and linear guides, protective glass, filter unit and recoater lip, as well as the laser hours. As the series is no longer built, clarify beforehand whether spare parts and parameter updates are available and whether the control computer and software are handed over in working order.

1 · Buy

Matching used machines for this material and build volume.

2 · Let us search

Nothing suitable? We will search for you – or get an e-mail as soon as a matching machine comes in.

3 · Have parts printed

Not worth your own machine? We produce your parts – request from the LayerByLayer 3D printing service.

Buy or have it printed? For small or changing quantities, having parts printed is often cheaper than your own machine. If you regularly fill many build jobs, your own machine pays off.
