WASP 40100 LDM — Technical data

The WASP 40100 LDM is WASP's large ceramic printer and was previously known as the Delta WASP 40100 Clay; WASP showed a revised edition at formnext 2021. It prints clay pastes in a cylindrical volume of Ø 400 × 1,000 mm, reduced to 450 mm height with the intermediate plate. The LDM WASP Extruder 3.0 with a stainless-steel screw allows retraction and nozzles from 1.5 to 3 mm, while the LDM XL 3.0 accessory takes up to 8 mm with layers up to 5 mm. The paste is fed from a 5-litre aluminium tank by compressed air; the Continuous Feeding System is available for series work.

On a used 40100 LDM, the compressed-air side is the most common weak point: tank seals, pressure regulator and hoses must be tight, and a compressor with 8 bar and 50 l/min is not included. Screw and nozzles show abrasion after grogged or refractory bodies. Check whether an extruder from the older Clay generation is still fitted and whether the CFS or XL extruder is part of the sale. Clay dust is hard on delta carriages and belts. With the tank support the machine is 2.7 m tall, which determines where it can go.
