WASP 3MT Industrial 4.0 — Technical data
The Delta WASP 3MT Industrial 4.0 is the large delta printer of the Industrial 4.0 line presented at the end of 2018 and traces back to the 3MT Industrial of 2017. It prints in a cylindrical volume of Ø 1,000 × 1,000 mm inside an insulated metal chamber. When ordering, buyers chose between a pellet extruder with a 3 mm nozzle for 2 to 6 mm granules and the Spitfire filament extruder with a 1.2 mm nozzle. The pellet tank refills automatically and can be topped up with the door closed. The machine weighs around 250 kg, stands over three metres tall and was delivered disassembled.
A used 3MT Industrial 4.0 has to be dismantled, transported and reassembled; assembly instructions, calibration data and ideally an experienced technician should be available. First establish which extruder is fitted, as pellet and filament operation require different feeding. On the pellet extruder check the screw for wear, and on the tank check that the level sensor works. The long arms and carriages should be checked for play and the belts for stretch. As WASP now offers only the pellet-only 3MT HDP, clarify the availability of spare parts for the filament version beforehand.
