Voxeljet VX4000 — Technical data

The VX4000 is a large-format sand printing system from the voxeljet range, now manufactured by ExOne. Its job box measures 4 × 2 × 1 metres and holds 8,000 litres; a wide, bidirectional printhead covers the build field in two passes, applying furan resin to silica or ceramic sand at 0.3 mm layer thickness. This produces large moulds and cores in one piece, for example for housings, pumps or vehicle structural parts that would otherwise be assembled from many individual cores. The machine is designed for multi-shift foundry operation, with an accuracy of ±0.5 mm.

A used VX4000 requires a hall for a machine with a footprint of roughly 19 × 7.8 m and more than 4 m height, plus crane or special transport, sand preparation and exhaust. The data sheet gives neither weight nor connection data; ask the manufacturer for these. Check the printhead, the full-width recoater, the job box drive and the service history. Dismantling and reassembly should be planned with ExOne service.
