Voxeljet VX2000 — Technical data

The VX2000 is a large-format binder jetting printer from voxeljet, designed for large sand moulds and cores in foundry work. The build box measures 2,000 × 1,000 × 1,000 mm, and printing takes place at 200 or 300 dpi in layers of 250 to 400 µm. The 2015 data sheet states up to 21.6 mm of build height per hour, equivalent to around 47 litres. The machine measures 4.9 × 2.5 × 2.3 m, weighs about 5 t and requires an installation area of 9 × 5.5 m with 3.5 m of ceiling height. In the range it sat between the VX1000 and the even larger VX4000; following the merger with ExOne it is no longer offered.

A used VX2000 is a hall project. Besides foundation, crane or heavy transport and power, it needs sand preparation, a mixer, exhaust and an unpacking station for moulds up to two metres long. Check printhead and cleaning station, the full-width recoater, job box and carriage, and the maintenance history. Because the data sheet names no materials, run a test print with your own sand and binder system; spare parts come through ExOne.
