Voxeljet VX200 — Technical data

The VX200 is voxeljet's smallest binder jetting printer and was intended as an entry-level and laboratory system. In a 300 × 200 × 150 mm build box, a recoater spreads sand or ceramic powder in 300 µm layers and a piezo printhead deposits binder at up to 254 dpi. Typical uses are small sand cores and moulds for casting trials, material development at universities and demonstration parts. The machine measures 1.71 × 0.98 × 1.55 m, weighs 450 kg and, according to the data sheet, needs an installation area of around 3 × 2.35 m. Since voxeljet was merged with ExOne in 2025, the VX200 is no longer in the range.

Used, the VX200 is mainly of interest for research, teaching and foundries wanting to test parameters on a small scale. Check printhead and nozzle pattern, cleaning station, recoater and build box, and inspect the binder lines for encrustation. It matters whether sand and binder are compatible and how unpacking is organised, as loose sand must be extracted and sieved. Spare parts and service now run through ExOne; ask about availability beforehand.
