Voxeljet VX1000 — Technical data

The VX1000 is a mid-size binder jetting printer from the former voxeljet range, now manufactured by ExOne. In a 1,000 × 600 × 500 mm job box (300 litres) it produces phenolic-bound sand moulds and cores and, with a dedicated binder, ceramic parts. A piezo printhead with up to 400 dpi binds sand in 0.3 mm layers and ceramics in 0.1 mm layers. The machine is common among foundries and service bureaus for cores with fine contours, for example for engine and e-motor housings. With a different material set the VX1000 also exists in PMMA and HSS versions, which are listed separately.

Many used VX1000 machines still carry the voxeljet nameplate; after the merger, service and spare parts run through ExOne. Before buying, clarify the configuration, as sand, ceramic and PMMA operation differ in binder and accessories. Check printhead condition, recoater, job box, exhaust and service history. Weighing three tonnes and standing 2.6 m tall, the machine needs a suitable hall.
