UltiMaker S8 Secure — Technical data

The S8 Secure is a hardened version of the S8 for defence, public authorities and companies with strict IT rules. Mechanics, the 330 × 240 × 300 mm build volume, the Cheetah motion planner and the 340 °C nozzle match the standard model. The difference is in the electronics: the firmware is flashed at the factory in the EU, the housing is tamper-resistant, and the printer works without cloud, only via wired LAN or USB. Jobs are prepared in Cura and management can stay local. UltiMaker grants 24 months of warranty on it.

When a Secure unit is resold, the previous owner's rules matter: some organisations may only release hardware after data deletion, or not at all. A buyer should therefore get written confirmation that memory and logs have been erased and that no export restriction applies. Technically the same checks apply as with the S8, i.e. core condition, print hours and filter. Whether a Secure unit can later be switched to standard firmware is not documented; ask the dealer beforehand.
