UltiMaker S3 — Technical data

The S3 is the compact dual-extrusion model of the S series and took the place of the Ultimaker 3 in the range. It uses the same print cores, the same user interface with 4.7-inch touchscreen and the same software as the S5, but prints in a smaller 230 × 190 × 200 mm build volume. The heated glass plate reaches 140 °C and is actively measured; the nozzle reaches 280 °C. With the CC core, fibre- or metal-filled filaments can also be processed. There is no Material Station for it.

As a used second printer next to an S5 or S7, the S3 is popular because print cores and material profiles are interchangeable. Check Bowden tubes, feeders and the print head fan, as these parts wear with high mileage. Glass plate, spool holder and at least one AA and one BB core should be included. Removal from the Digital Factory and a factory reset belong to the handover. UltiMaker still supplies spare parts, many of them identical to the S5.
