UltiMaker Method XL — Technical data

The Method XL is the largest model of the Method range and, like its smaller siblings, was first offered under the MakerBot name. It provides 305 × 340 × 320 mm with one material and 305 × 305 × 320 mm for dual extrusion, considerably more space than the Method X. Chamber and plate are heated up to 100 and 105 °C respectively, so ABS and ASA can be printed at full size. The 1.75 mm filament comes from an external material case with drying function, and printing uses the 1C and 2XA extruders.

At 56.5 kg and with up to 1,400 W power demand, the Method XL needs a fixed location and its own socket; clarify this before buying. Check used units for a complete scope of delivery with material case, both extruders and build plate. Because many large parts are made from ABS, look for residues in the chamber and on the guides. As with all Method models, the unit must be removed from the previous cloud account, and the firmware should have been updated before handover.
