UltiMaker Method X Carbon Fiber — Technical data
The Method X Carbon Fiber is an equipment variant of the Method X, configured at the factory for fibre-reinforced materials. The machine itself matches the Method X: a 110 °C chamber, two direct-drive extruders for 1.75 mm filament, a build volume of 190 × 190 × 196 mm with one material and a flexible steel plate. Besides the 2A and 2XA extruders, however, the box contains the 1C composite extruder with wear-resistant drive and hardened nozzle, which prints carbon-fibre-reinforced nylon and ABS as a replacement for simple metal brackets.
Used, the condition of the 1C is decisive, as carbon fibre wears nozzle and gears; after many hundreds of hours a replacement is worthwhile. Ask the seller about the materials printed and test each extruder individually in a test print. Since the equipment is what sets it apart from the plain Method X, the scope of delivery should be complete. Check chamber heating and the humidity display of the dry bays and have the unit detached from its previous cloud account before it joins a new CloudPrint setup.
