UltiMaker Method X — Technical data
The Method X is the further development of the Method and was also introduced under the MakerBot name. The main difference is the chamber actively heated up to 110 °C, intended to print ABS, ASA and PC-ABS largely without warping. It prints 1.75 mm filament through two direct-drive extruders, with a build volume of 190 × 190 × 196 mm for one material and 152 × 190 × 196 mm for dual extrusion. The second-generation extruders, 1XA for model and 2XA for soluble support, are designed for these temperatures.
Before buying a used Method X, clarify which extruders are included and how many hours they have run; the carbon-fibre extruder can be bought later. The chamber heater with 800 W peak power should hold its temperature during a test print. The printer must be removed from the previous owner's cloud account, otherwise integration into CloudPrint is difficult. Washing out SR-30 or RapidRinse requires a rinse station, which is often sold separately. Check the flexible plate for dents.
