UltiMaker Air Manager — Technical data

The Air Manager is a cover with fan and filter that is fitted to the S5, closing its open front and top. It draws air from the build chamber through an EPA filter that, according to the manufacturer, retains up to 95 % of ultrafine particles depending on the material, and regulates airflow between 1 and 50 m³/h. Power and control come through a cable from the printer. On the S7 and S8 an equivalent filter is built in, and for the S6 the data sheet lists the Air Manager as an accessory. Together with the Material Station it formed the S5 Pro Bundle.

Used, the Air Manager is mainly of interest to S5 owners who print in offices or classrooms. Filter condition is decisive: the printer menu shows the runtime, a new filter is due after about 1,500 hours and should be reflected in the price. Check the housing for cracks, the door for proper closing and the fan for noise. The S5 needs firmware that supports the Air Manager.
