Stratasys Fortus 450mc — Technical data

The Fortus 450mc is an industrial FDM system for fixtures, tooling and end-use parts made of engineering and high-performance plastics. With a 406 × 355 × 406 mm build volume it handles a wide range: ABS and ASA grades, PC and PC-ABS, Nylon 12 and Nylon 12CF, glass-filled flame-retardant PA6/66, ULTEM 9085 and 1010, Antero and VICTREX AM 200. Two canisters each for model and support switch over automatically; the optional FDC cabinet supplies and dries up to 8,194 cm³ of model material. The machine is run with Insight and Control Center.

Used Fortus 450mc units are mainly of interest to users who want to process ULTEM or Nylon 12CF. Before buying, clarify which heads and tips are included, how many hours the machine has run and whether canister feed and build platform work properly. It requires a 208 V three-phase supply at 18 A and weighs around 600 kg, so the installation site and transport have to be planned accordingly. Licences for GrabCAD Print Pro or OpenAM need to be checked separately.
