Stratasys Fortus 380mc Carbon Fiber Edition — Technical data

The Fortus 380mc Carbon Fiber Edition is a separate version of the 380mc locked to two materials: carbon-fibre-reinforced FDM Nylon 12CF and ASA, both with soluble support. Build volume (355 × 305 × 305 mm), chamber, layer heights and utilities match the standard 380mc. Stratasys positioned it as an affordable way into stiff, lightweight composite parts, for example fixtures, gauges and tools in production. According to the spec sheet, a standard 380mc cannot be converted into the Carbon Fiber Edition later.

Used buyers should be aware of the material restriction: without a factory conversion it stays with Nylon 12CF and ASA. Carbon-filled filament wears print heads faster, so head condition, replacement history and maintenance logs are particularly important. Nylon absorbs moisture, so opened canisters should not be counted in the price. The supply is 208 V three-phase, 18 A. As with all legacy Fortus systems, clarify the Insight licence and spare-parts commitment beforehand.
