Stratasys Fortus 380mc — Technical data

The Fortus 380mc was the smaller production system of the Fortus range alongside the 450mc. In a heated chamber it builds parts up to 355 × 305 × 305 mm from eight engineering thermoplastics – ABS grades including ESD ABS, ASA, Nylon 12, PC, PC-ABS and PC-ISO. Four layer heights from 0.127 to 0.330 mm are available; data preparation runs in Insight and job management in Control Center. It was used for fixtures, functional prototypes and short runs. A special version is the Carbon Fiber Edition; in this class Stratasys now only offers the Fortus 450mc.

For a used 380mc, operating hours, condition of print heads and chamber heating and the calibration of the gantry axes matter. The power supply is important: 208 V three-phase at 18 A, often requiring a transformer in Europe. At 601 kg and almost two metres tall, transport needs planning. Also check which material licences are enabled, whether Insight can be transferred with the unit and how long Stratasys will supply parts for the legacy model.
