Stratasys FDM Vantage X — Technical data

The FDM Vantage X arrived in early 2006 as an upgrade of the Vantage i. With the same 355 × 254 × 254 mm build volume, it adds PC-ABS, PC-ISO (rated to ISO 10993 and USP Class VI for medical use) and ABSi, and offers a finer 0.127 mm setting for ABS, ABSi and PC-ABS. It shipped in two configurations: Xa for ABS, ABSi and PC-ABS, and Xp for PC, PC-ISO and PC-ABS. If you need more speed or a larger chamber, the Vantage S or SE is the better fit; if you only print ABS or PC, the i is enough. The machine is discontinued.

When buying a used Vantage X, the configuration is decisive: an Xa does not print pure polycarbonate, and an Xp does not print ABS. Whether a conversion is possible should be checked beforehand rather than assumed. Also inspect the nozzle tips, chamber heating, axes and canister bays, confirm that matching material canisters are available, and make sure a working PC with Insight is included.
