Stratasys FDM Vantage i — Technical data

The FDM Vantage i is the base model of the Vantage range, which Stratasys offered from 2003 as a smaller sibling of the Titan. It builds within 355 × 254 × 254 mm and processes ABS or polycarbonate. Compared with the Vantage X, it lacks the materials added in 2006 – PC-ABS, PC-ISO and ABSi – as well as the finer 0.127 mm setting; the Vantage S is tuned for speed, and the SE adds the large build chamber. When the X arrived, Stratasys cut the price of the i, keeping it as the entry point to the family. From 2007 a software update added a 0.33 mm layer option for ABS. The machine is discontinued and listed in legacy support.

Used, the Vantage i suits simple functional parts and fixtures in ABS or PC where no special materials are needed. Find out beforehand which material configuration is installed and whether canisters for it can still be obtained. Beyond that, check the chamber heating, axes, nozzle-tip calibration and a working Insight PC. The site needs a 230 V supply at 20 A.
