Stratasys FDM Prodigy Plus — Technical data
The FDM Prodigy Plus is the revised version of the Prodigy and came onto the market in 2002. The 203 × 203 × 305 mm build volume and office suitability stayed; new were WaterWorks soluble support and Insight control software. Supports can now be washed out instead of broken away, which makes delicate parts and cavities easier – the main reason to choose a Plus over a Prodigy. According to Stratasys it processes ABS with SR-30 support, and one cartridge holds 922 cm³ of usable material. The machine runs on 110–120 V or 220–240 V and connects via Ethernet. It is discontinued and listed in legacy support.
When checking a used Prodigy Plus, ask to see the soluble-support workflow, including the wash tank. Then inspect the print head and nozzles, axis guides and cartridge mechanism, and find out whether ABS and SR-30 cartridges are still available. A PC with Insight should be included; spare parts are only available to a limited extent.
