Stratasys Dimension SST 768 — Technical data
The Dimension SST 768 belongs to an older generation of the Dimension family, Stratasys' compact FDM printers for design offices. The number 768 stands for the build volume in cubic inches: 8 × 8 × 12 in, i.e. 203 × 203 × 305 mm. It prints ABS in several standard colours at 0.254 or 0.330 mm layers; supports are made of soluble material and washed out after printing. Material comes from one 922 cm³ cartridge each for model and support, and data is prepared in Catalyst software. Stratasys support today only lists the newer 1200es and Elite models.
Today an SST 768 is mainly of interest to hobbyists, schools or as a parts donor. Because Stratasys no longer lists the series in support, spare parts, print heads and compatible cartridges are the critical point – before buying, clarify whether material for this model can still be obtained. Equally important: a working wash station, a PC that runs the old Catalyst software, and a test print confirming head, heating and axes.
