Stratasys Dimension Elite — Technical data

The Dimension Elite belongs to the Dimension family, Stratasys' compact FDM printers for engineering and education. It prints ABSplus in nine colours in a 203 × 203 × 305 mm envelope and, besides 0.254 mm, offers a finer 0.178 mm layer that the larger Dimension models lack. Supports are usually built from soluble material and removed in the SCA-1200 wash unit. Data preparation is done in CatalystEX. Stratasys now lists the Elite only as a legacy printer in support.

Used Elite printers often come from universities and design offices and are inexpensive. What matters is whether ABSplus and support cartridges are still available and whether the print heads are healthy; a head replacement can quickly exceed the purchase price. The SCA-1200 should be included, otherwise the wash step is missing. CatalystEX was designed for old Windows versions – test beforehand whether it runs on the intended PC.
