Stratasys Dimension BST 1200es — Technical data

The Dimension BST 1200es is the breakaway version of the Dimension 1200es. It builds ABSplus parts up to 254 × 254 × 305 mm at 0.254 or 0.330 mm layers; supports are printed from a material that is snapped off by hand after printing. No wash station is needed, which made the BST the simpler and formerly cheaper choice compared with the SST 1200es. With undercuts and internal channels, however, the principle reaches its limits. Data is prepared in CatalystEX. Stratasys only supports the 1200es as a legacy model.

For buyers of a used BST 1200es, the low effort is an advantage: no caustic bath, no disposal question. In return, check whether the intended parts can be finished sensibly without soluble supports. Technically, print head condition, build platform, heating and operating hours count. Also clarify the supply of ABSplus and breakaway cartridges, and whether CatalystEX runs on a current, secured PC. At 148 kg the unit is easy to move.
