Solukon SFM-AT800 — Technical data
With the SFM-AT800, Solukon appeared at formnext 2017 with a large production system for the first time. It was designed for heavy metal parts from laser powder bed fusion: a rotary table moves the part, still on its build plate, about two axes, and vibration loosens powder even from areas that are hard to reach. According to trade press it held parts up to 500 × 500 × 500 mm and 300 kg, and a format of 800 × 400 × 500 mm was announced for 2018. Heavy parts are loaded by crane through an automatically opening roof. Like the small SFM-AT300, there was a standard and an ATEX-certified inert gas version. It was replaced in 2018 by the SFM-AT800-S.
With a used offer, first establish whether it really is the first version or already an SFM-AT800-S with Siemens controls; the rating plate will tell. For reactive powders only the inert gas version is an option. Check the roof mechanism, crane pick-up, drives of both axes and seals. Because of its age, ask Solukon beforehand which control and spare parts are still available and whether an upgrade to newer software is possible.
