Sisma MYSINT 300 — Technical data
The MYSINT 300 was Sisma's large laser melting system and appeared in 2016 as a further development of the MYSINT 100. It builds in a cylinder 300 mm in diameter and 400 mm high with a 500 W fibre laser whose focus can be adjusted between 100 and 500 µm. Sisma quoted up to 25 cm³ per hour in stainless steel, layers from 20 µm and less than 100 ppm residual oxygen. It also had a patented tilting recoater, interchangeable cylinders and automatic powder unloading. Its counterpart at Trumpf is the TruPrint 3000 with the same build volume.
At 3.4 metres long, around 3.5 tonnes plus filter unit and 32 A three-phase power, the MYSINT 300 needs a well prepared hall with compressed air and inert gas. When buying used, laser hours, the variable-focus optics and the condition of filter and tilting recoater are the key points. A complete set of cylinders allows material changes without mixing. As Sisma no longer lists the model and handed its laser melting business to Trumpf in 2021, service is the real question: who supplies spare parts, software updates and calibration? Maintenance records reduce the risk.
