Sinterit Sandblaster — Technical data
The Sandblaster is Sinterit's small blasting cabinet for fine cleaning of SLS parts after rough depowdering. In the 410 × 310 × 200 mm working area, adhering powder is removed with 200 µm glass beads; the cabinet needs compressed air at 5.0–8.6 bar and about 300 l/min, and draws only 6 W of electrical power. At 11.5 kg and just under 0.5 m wide, it fits on a table or on the shelf of the powder station. For larger parts, for example from the Lisa X, Sinterit offers the Sandblaster SLS.
Used blasting cabinets are usually robust but wear on gloves, viewing window and blast gun. These parts should be intact or cheap to replace. An adequately sized, oil-free and dry compressed air supply is important. As blasting creates fine polymer dust, the cabinet should be connected to a suitable vacuum, ideally ATEX approved. Abrasive left over from the previous owner is usually spent and should be replaced.
