Sinterit NILS 480 — Technical data

The NILS 480 (New Industrial Laser Sintering) was Sinterit's step from benchtop machines into the industrial class. Announced in September 2021 and available from 2022, it offered a build volume of 200 × 200 × 330 mm, a 30 W infrared laser with galvo scanner and a build speed of 10–14 mm/h. Automatic powder distribution, a 30 l feed bed and continuous printing were meant to reduce operator effort compared with the Lisa range, along with inert gas control, open parameters and third-party powders. Sinterit no longer offers the machine; resellers list it as discontinued.

Anyone considering a used NILS 480 should bear in mind its limited installed base: clarify spare parts, service and software updates with Sinterit beforehand. Check laser hours, the condition of recoater, powder feed and heating, and the inert gas supply at the installation site. With a footprint of about 1.2 × 1.2 m and roughly 250 kg, the machine needs a fixed location and transport planning. A matching powder station makes unpacking much easier.
