Shining 3D OptimScan Q12 — Technical data

The OptimScan Q12 is a stationary structured-light scanner for quality inspection of small and medium parts such as injection mouldings, investment castings or gears. Four 12.3 MP cameras and blue LED projection capture two measuring ranges without changing lenses: small with a 160 × 110 mm field and 0.005 mm accuracy, large with 430 × 300 mm and 0.015 mm. A shot takes under a second, and point distance is 0.04 or 0.1 mm. The head weighs 3.5 kg and works on a tripod or with a rotary table. Acceptance testing follows VDI/VDE 2634 Part 2. The sister model Q9 has 9 MP cameras, and the HD variants have smaller fields.

On a used Q12, check that the tripod or stand, rotary table and 5 m data cable are complete. Calibration plates for both ranges must be included, otherwise recalibration is impossible. A current calibration certificate is indispensable for inspection reports. The LED light source hardly wears, but the cameras should be free of dust. The evaluation software, SHINING3D Inspect or third-party, is licensed separately, which should be clarified in the offer. The computer must meet the manufacturer's requirements.
