Shining 3D FreeScan UE Pro — Technical data

The FreeScan UE Pro is a cable-connected handheld laser scanner from the metrology division and followed the UE7 and UE11 models in 2022. It uses 26 crossed blue laser lines for fast scans, a single line for holes and pockets and parallel lines for fine detail. According to the brochure it achieves up to 0.02 mm accuracy, 0.02 + 0.03 mm/m volumetric and 0.02 + 0.015 mm/m with built-in photogrammetry. The rate is 1.85 million points per second, the field of view 600 × 550 mm and the working distance 170 to 680 mm. It weighs 840 g and connects via USB 3.0. Its successor is the wireless UE Pro2.

On the used market the UE Pro is a proven unit for inspecting and reverse engineering castings and tools. Condition and brightness of the laser diodes and clean camera optics are important. Test the USB cable. FreeScan software is licensed permanently and still maintained, but the licence must be transferred to the buyer. Ask for the calibration plate and report. According to the manufacturer the PC needs at least an RTX 3060 with 6 GB and 32 GB RAM.
