Shining 3D FreeScan Trak Nova+ — Technical data

The FreeScan Trak Nova+ is the upgraded version of the Trak Nova presented in September 2026. The principle stays the same: an optical tracker follows a handheld laser scanner so that even large parts can be measured without markers, and the second scan head, the UE Nova+, can also be used as a long-range handheld scanner. New are more laser lines, 62 for fast scanning and 25 parallel lines for detail, giving up to 7.6 million points per second. According to the series page, accuracy is 0.02 mm and volumetric accuracy 0.062 mm in the 12 m³ volume, or 0.046 + 0.012 mm/m with video photogrammetry. Data is sent via Wi-Fi or fibre optic.

As the Nova+ is very new, used units will mostly appear as demo or lease returns. In that case look at remaining warranty and service contract, which may be transferable. It is important to distinguish it clearly from its predecessor, for example by the rating plate and the laser line count shown in the software. Buy tracker and scan heads only as a calibrated set and ask for the calibration certificate. The scan head batteries are wear parts. The processing PC must meet the manufacturer's requirements.
