Shining 3D EP-P3850 — Technical data

The EP-P3850 is a polymer laser sintering system that Shining 3D offered with control software from Eplus3D. A 55 W CO2 laser with dynamic focusing sinters at up to 7.8 m/s in a 380 × 380 × 500 mm build volume; the standard layer is 0.1 mm, selectable from 0.08 to 0.3 mm. The data sheet gives ± 0.15 mm accuracy up to 100 mm part size and ± 0.15 % above. Powder is loaded automatically and spread in both directions, with nitrogen as shielding gas. The system weighs 1,600 kg and runs on 380 V three-phase power. An Eplus3D data sheet describes the same machine with PA11 and PA12 materials.

When buying used, check CO2 laser hours and output, the condition of scanner, lenses and chamber window, and the chamber heaters. Check filters, nitrogen supply and powder spreading for scoring. Powder history determines economics: which material was run, at what ratio was used powder refreshed, how long was powder left exposed? The data sheet names Windows 7 as the control platform, so the computer should not sit unprotected on the company network.
