Shining 3D EP-M250 Pro — Technical data

The EP-M250 Pro is the extended version of the EP-M250, with the same 262 × 262 × 350 mm build volume but designed for single- or dual-laser operation at 500 W fibre laser power each. It adds an optional platform heater up to 200 °C and a revised filter system that, according to the manufacturer, lasts longer. Layer thickness is 20 to 100 µm, with argon or nitrogen at no more than 100 ppm oxygen. At 3,500 × 1,300 × 2,300 mm and 1,700 kg, the Pro is larger than the base model and draws 14 kW.

On a used unit, look at the actual equipment: dual-laser operation and platform heating were options, and their absence changes the range of applications. With two lasers, check both hour counters and the calibration of the overlap zone. Filter change records, chamber seal and oxygen sensor show the state of maintenance. Powder history includes the alloys printed and cleaning records. EP Control and EP Hatch are now looked after by Eplus3D; clarify licence transfer and spare parts for this generation with them in advance. The hall must be prepared for 14 kW and inert gas.
