Shining 3D EINSTAR Rockit — Technical data

The EINSTAR Rockit is a compact hybrid handheld scanner from the prosumer brand and shares its housing, battery and infrared mode with the EINSTAR 2. The difference is the laser section: instead of 17 parallel lines it has 38 crossed lines for larger surfaces plus 7 parallel lines for fine detail, along with a 5 MP texture camera. According to the manufacturer it reaches up to 2.8 million points per second in Laser HD mode and a resolution down to 0.05 mm, while IR mode delivers up to 4.8 million points with fields of up to 1,170 × 1,385 mm. With battery it weighs 425 g and works via Wi-Fi or USB-C. No accuracy figure is given.

With a used Rockit, check the battery and charging electronics; the unit is built for mobile use and accordingly often on the move. Inspect laser exit and cameras for scratches and test both laser patterns and IR mode. Adhesive markers are needed in laser mode and are consumables. The EXStar Hub account must be transferred. A computer with RTX graphics and plenty of memory is essential, the manufacturer recommends 64 GB RAM; Macs with Apple silicon are also supported.
