Shining 3D EinScan SE — Technical data
The EinScan SE was the entry desktop scanner of Shining 3D's first S generation and has been replaced by the SE V2. A white-light projector and a 1.3 MP camera capture objects on a turntable carrying up to 5 kg or free-standing. According to the trade press it achieves accuracy of no worse than 0.1 mm; a single shot takes under eight seconds, a turntable scan under two minutes. The single-shot field measures 200 × 150 mm; parts up to 200 mm can be scanned automatically on the turntable and up to 700 mm free-standing. The manual gives a working distance of 290 to 480 mm.
Used first-generation SE units are cheap but slow and need scanning spray for shiny or dark parts. When buying, check that turntable, tripod, power supply and calibration board are complete. EXScan S must activate with the serial number; older software versions run on Windows 10, and whether newer versions support the unit should be asked of support. The manual recommends a PC with a Core i7, 32 GB RAM and a dedicated graphics card. It is not meant for measurement tasks.
