Shining 3D EinScan Libre — Technical data

The EinScan Libre is a standalone handheld scanner from the Professional line: computer, storage and screen are built in, so no PC is needed for scanning. Shining 3D combines three light modes: 101 blue laser lines for detail work, 38 infrared laser lines and an IR VCSEL projector for fast, marker-free surface capture. In Laser HD mode the manufacturer states up to 4.5 million points per second and a volumetric accuracy of up to 0.04 + 0.06 mm/m, while IR mode covers objects of over ten metres and a field of view of almost one metre. It contains an NVIDIA Jetson module, a 1 TB SSD and a 48 MP colour camera. The Libre is one of the newest models in the range.

When buying used, check the condition of the display and housing first, as the unit is constantly handled. Test the batteries for capacity and negotiate spare batteries. Software and firmware status matter: updates come from the manufacturer, and the previous owner should release the device account. The calibration board, charger and markers belong in the package. For post-processing in EXModel or Geomagic, a capable PC is still advisable.
