Shining 3D EinScan HX2 — Technical data
The EinScan HX2 is a handheld hybrid scanner with two kinds of light: blue LED structured light for fast surface scans and 13 blue laser crosses for shiny, dark or more demanding parts. Shining 3D stated accuracy of up to 0.04 mm and volumetric accuracy of up to 0.04 + 0.06 mm/m, at up to 1.6 million points per second and 120 frames per second in laser mode. Field of view is up to 420 × 440 mm, working distance 470 mm and weight 745 g. A colour camera captures texture. The HX2 replaced the HX and is now listed as discontinued on the manufacturer's website.
For buyers, the HX2 is a fairly recent used unit with ongoing software support. The laser diodes deserve attention: uneven or weak crosses indicate wear. The scanner is tethered by USB, so check the connector and cable for kinks. EXScan HX is tied to the serial number; register the transfer to the new owner with the manufacturer. The calibration board, markers and carrying case should be included. The PC needs a capable NVIDIA card, otherwise the real-time preview slows down.
