Shining 3D EinScan HX — Technical data
The EinScan HX was the first hybrid handheld scanner in the EinScan range, with blue LED structured light and seven blue laser crosses; its documentation dates from 2020. In LED mode it works quickly and without markers at up to 1.2 million points per second and a field of view of up to 420 × 440 mm; in laser mode with markers it is more accurate, up to 0.04 mm and 0.04 + 0.06 mm/m volumetric according to the data sheet. The scanner weighs 710 g and connects via USB 3.0. A colour camera is built in. Its successor was the HX2 with 13 instead of 7 laser crosses; the HX page is still reachable but has gone from the menu.
As a used unit, the HX is a common entry into laser scanning because it trades at comparatively low prices. Check the laser crosses for brightness and even lines, the LED projection and the colour camera. It matters whether the EXScan HX version still runs on current Windows versions and whether the licence can be transferred. The manufacturer recommended at least GTX 1080 graphics and 32 GB RAM. Calibration board and markers should be included; test the USB cable.
