Shining 3D EinScan H2 — Technical data
The EinScan H2 is a handheld hybrid scanner that combines white LED structured light with invisible infrared light from three VCSEL projectors. The LED light is meant for mid-sized objects with up to 0.05 mm accuracy, the infrared mode for people, hair and dark surfaces where visible light is a problem. Shining 3D quotes up to 1.2 million points per second, a point distance of 0.2 to 3 mm and a field of view of up to 780 × 900 mm in IR mode. The 5 MP camera captures colour texture, which is why the H2 is often used for body scanning, orthotics and cultural heritage. It succeeds the EinScan H and runs on EXScan H software.
On a used H2, inspect the projector windows and the texture camera first: scratches or residue spoil data and colour. A textured test scan shows this quickly. The EXScan H licence is tied to the device; have the serial number registered to the new owner with the manufacturer. The calibration board and calibration report belong in the package. The scanner runs tethered to a PC, which needs an NVIDIA graphics card; compare against the requirement list on the manufacturer's website beforehand.
