Russell Finex AMPro Sieve Station — Technical data
The AMPro Sieve Station is an automated sieving station Russell Finex developed for additive manufacturing metal powders and presented at formnext 2017. At its core is a sieve unit based on the Russell Compact Sieve, plus powder conveying, a storage hopper and a programmable touchscreen control for different powders and particle sizes. The station is mobile, can be purged with inert gas and, according to the trade press, was ATEX and ETL compliant. It works with powder vessels or directly on a powder bed printer in a closed loop. In early 2024 it gave way to the re-engineered AMPro Sieve Station Connect.
When buying used, the first question is which powders have been sieved: reactive residues such as titanium or aluminium mean fire and contamination risk, so a cleaning record and a list of materials belong in the handover. Sieve meshes, seals and filters are wear parts; the mesh size depends on your own powder. Also check conveying, sensors, the control with its stored programs and the Ex marking on the rating plate, which determines where the unit may be installed. Ask the manufacturer beforehand, with the rating plate data, whether parts are still supplied for this first generation.
