Renishaw RenAM 500S Ultra — Technical data

The RenAM 500S Ultra is the single-laser machine in the top configuration of the RenAM 500 series. To the technology of the 500S – one 500 W laser, 250 × 250 × 350 mm build volume, automatic powder circuit – it adds TEMPUS as standard, which lets the laser work while the recoater is still moving and saves up to nine seconds per layer, as well as process monitoring with LaserVIEW, MeltVIEW and CameraVIEW. In one Renishaw example, the build time of an aluminium part on a 500S with TEMPUS fell from 30:40 to 23:54 hours. The Ultra configuration was presented at Formnext 2023.

For used Ultra machines the software side is important: according to the data sheet, the licences for InfiniAM Camera and Spectral are for twelve months, and an extension must be agreed with Renishaw. Laser hours, the condition of sieve and filters, the function of the monitoring sensors and the material history also count. The machine weighs 1,970 kg and needs a three-phase 63 A supply, argon and cooling. Warranty and service status are usually still relevant for such young machines.
