Renishaw RenAM 500S — Technical data

The RenAM 500S is the single-laser machine of the current RenAM 500 series in standard configuration. A 500 W ytterbium fibre laser with 80 µm focus and dynamic focusing up to 500 µm exposes the 250 × 250 × 350 mm build volume; Renishaw states layer thicknesses of 20 to 120 µm. The powder circuit sieves the powder automatically and returns it under inert gas, so the machine is usually dedicated to one material. In this it continues the concept of the earlier RenAM 500M. The two- and four-laser models 500D and 500Q offer more productivity, the Flex version more freedom to change materials.

Used, the 500S is an entry into series production with one laser. Besides laser hours, the condition of sieve, powder conveying and SafeChange filters, the material history and the argon supply matter. The machine needs a three-phase supply with 63 A fusing, weighs just under two tonnes and requires a chiller. Also clarify which software licences (QuantAM, InfiniAM) are transferred and whether TEMPUS or process monitoring have been retrofitted.
