Renishaw RenAM 500D Ultra — Technical data
The RenAM 500D Ultra combines two 500 W lasers with the full equipment of the RenAM 500 series. TEMPUS synchronises the lasers with the recoater, so exposure already starts while powder is still being spread; for the 500D with TEMPUS Renishaw states up to three times the output of a single-laser machine and cites a build time of 10:45 instead of 26:42 hours as an example. The 250 × 250 × 350 mm build volume, automatic powder circuit and layer thicknesses of 20 to 120 µm are the same as on the other models. Process monitoring with LaserVIEW, MeltVIEW and CameraVIEW is included.
Because the 500D Ultra has only been offered since 2024, used machines usually have few years of operation. Nevertheless, the hours of both lasers, their alignment in the overlap area, filter and sieve condition and the materials processed should be documented. Decisive for the value are transferable licences (QuantAM, InfiniAM, Renishaw Central), any running warranty and a service contract. At the installation site, the machine of just over two tonnes needs a three-phase 63 A supply, argon and cooling water.
