Renishaw RenAM 500D Flex — Technical data

The RenAM 500D Flex is the two-laser variant of the Flex version and appears in Renishaw's 2024 data sheet. Two 500 W lasers share the 250 × 250 mm build area at 350 mm build height; powder is not conveyed in a circuit but dosed from a hopper and sieved externally after the build. This makes it suitable for development and small series in several materials, with twice the number of lasers of the 500S Flex. It can be upgraded to a closed powder circuit, and TEMPUS can be retrofitted. At 1,900 kg it is lighter than the standard 500D.

Used 500D Flex machines are rare because the variant has only been in the data sheet since 2024. If you find one, check the hours of both lasers and their alignment, the powder history and the cleaning state after the last material change. Also important are the included sieving equipment, any Reduced Build Volume kit, the software licences and a running warranty or service contract. A height of almost 2.8 m and a weight of about 1.9 t determine transport and installation site.
