Renishaw RenAM 500D — Technical data

The RenAM 500D is the two-laser version of the RenAM 500 series in standard configuration. Two 500 W fibre lasers, each reaching the entire powder bed, expose the 250 × 250 × 350 mm build volume in parallel; focus, layer thicknesses of 20 to 120 µm and the automatic powder circuit are the same as on the other models. According to a 2024 Renishaw flyer, the second laser roughly doubles productivity compared with a single-laser machine, and with TEMPUS it is said to be about three times as much. A two-laser configuration already appeared in the 2018 data sheet; Renishaw has promoted the 500D as a model in its own right since 2024.

Used 500D machines are mostly still young, so it is worth checking for a running manufacturer warranty and the service contract. Check the hours of both lasers, their alignment in the overlap area, sieve and filter condition and the materials processed. Transferable software licences and whether TEMPUS is enabled are equally important. The installation site needs a three-phase 63 A supply, argon and cooling water.
