Realizer SLM 50 — Technical data
The SLM 50 from Realizer GmbH in Borchen is a benchtop system for selective laser melting of small metal parts. The round build envelope measures 70 mm in diameter and 80 mm in height, and a fibre laser of 100 to 120 W melts the powder. Thanks to low powder demand and short setup times, it is used in dental labs, jewellery production and materials development institutes, for example with iron, titanium and cobalt alloys or precious metals. It runs on a standard 230 V supply and fits into small labs. Realizer has been majority-owned by DMG MORI since 2017, and the SLM 50 is no longer offered.
For a used SLM 50, operating hours and the condition of the laser source, recoater and gas flow should be documented. The control computer and software (RDesigner) with a transferable licence are also important, as Realizer no longer appears as an independent supplier. Clarify beforehand whether DMG MORI or an independent provider supplies service and spare parts. A gas supply, build plates and wear parts included in the sale noticeably reduce start-up costs.
