Realizer SLM 100 — Technical data
The SLM 100 is one of the early laser melting systems from the Realizer development line. The first units were sold as the MCP Realizer through the MCP-HEK group in Lübeck, from which SLM Solutions later emerged; the series was built and further developed by Realizer GmbH in Borchen. The machine produces small metal parts at layer thicknesses of 20 to 100 µm; depending on the source, the build envelope is given as 125 × 125 × 100 mm or 125 × 125 × 200 mm. Typical materials are stainless steel, Inconel, aluminium, titanium and gold. The SLM 100 has been discontinued for years.
Used SLM 100 machines often come from universities and research and are correspondingly old. Before buying, establish laser power and type, as the sources disagree. Equally important are the condition of optics, process chamber and seals, a working control system with software, and whether DMG MORI or an independent service partner still supports the machine. Spare parts for laser and scanner can be hard to source, so buy spares along with the machine where possible.
