Rapid Shape D40 II — Technical data

The D40 II is the dual-projector version of the D30 II and comes from the same machine generation from 2017. Two Full HD projectors work side by side in the same housing, each exposing an area of 130 × 75 mm at 385 nm; this doubles the build area at the same pixel size of around 34 µm. The unit weighs 49 kg, five more than the D30 II, and like it runs with netfabb. Straumann listed it as the CARES P40, Shera as the SheraPrint 40. There was no benchtop successor with two projectors; large areas are now covered by the D50+.

With two projectors the inspection effort doubles too: both light sources must be calibrated and equally bright, otherwise parts come out differently on one side. The calibration log for both channels therefore belongs with the offer. The transitions between the fields show up in a test print across the full area. Otherwise the same applies as for the D30 II: keep vats in stock, take the control PC and netfabb licence, and clarify support questions in advance.
